Symposium at GIK Institute: Experts say quantum technology reshaping industry

SWABI: Participants in a symposium held here on Saturday said that quantum technology and artificial intelligence were changing the business landscape and that those who adapted to take use of these capabilities would prosper in the digital era.

They were addressing at the Ghulam Ishaq Khan (GIK) Institute of Engineering Sciences and technologies’s inaugural global conference on quantum technologies.

A panel of academics, specialists, and engineering students studied a range of subjects and came to the opinion that these new fields will soon spark a revolution. The conference attracted more than 300 academics and specialists from throughout the nation.

A well-known physicist and provost of Pak-Austria’s Fachhochschule: Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology, Prof. Dr. Younus Fida Khattak, was the main guest.

According to Prof. Khattak, Pakistan’s energy dilemma might be solved with the use of quantum batteries and renewable energy sources.

“Given the need for electricity in the country, we hope that our brilliant young people will perform. Our youngsters are subject to high expectations, he remarked.

According to Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid, rector of the GIK Institute, quantum technologies will spur a variety of opportunities while transforming security, business, and research and reaching a new peak in creativity.

He said that institutions have to use the potential of quantum technologies for society as a whole. “It is essential for the researchers and vital for collaboration and cooperation among the countries,” he said.

According to Prof. Dr. SM Hasan Zaidi, the symposium’s major goals were to establish an atmosphere that was suitable to working on quantum technology, to the establishment of research groups in many fields, and to the development of cross-national cooperation.

He said that quantum technology will “unlock the potential in many fields” and “revolutionize the industrial sector.”
